Just a quick note to let you know this has not gone away.  Been very busy with life and stuff like that.  Currently working on a new webpage design and it's taking a while  as I have to learn as I go.

Be watching for it.  You can always leave a note for me in TheLaundryRoom

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Yes, it's been a long time since I last posted and it may be a little bit before I do again.  I am getting ready to make major changes to the page and it it's going to take a while to get it done.
This will stay up the way it is while I do my creating. Use the link to TheLaundryRoom forum to see what we are up to and to get in touch with me. Lots of jokes, games, time wasters and trivia always going on.

I wish I could say I was just a slacker, but actually I have been working pretty hard on learning a lot of stuff about web pages and forums, the care and feeding of. The forum has been pretty busy, we are up to 45 members now. The current stylesheet on the forum was my first real attempt to put together a design from scratch. It's pretty cheesy, but I a lot about how it works. We arrived in Indiana just in time to help our friends out at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds. Sunnybrook RV was holding their big rally there over the 4th of July, and we were asked to give them a hand.Alan went back to his old job of sound production for the entertainment side of it and I got to work in the wearables booth.

It was a lot of fun and we had a pretty good time even with working.

We even got time one night for a cookout.

We are staying at the Elkhart Campground here in Indiana.  It's a nice place and we have been enjoying our stay.  Everything is close by and Bob(the owner) put in a lot of upgraded 50amp full hookup sites, all pull through.

I am right under the wi-fi antenna so you know where I am. Right here at Command Central

That brown chair is so darn comfy. It's nice enough to nap in and I have on a couple of occasions.

Here's the "Mothership" parked on our site in Elkhart.  It's a short walk to the laundry room(my favorite place, LOL.)

Alan's daughter and two of his grandchildren are coming up the first of the week to spend a couple of days with us.  Not really enough time to do a lot of sightseeing, but we are going to make a visit to the brand new home of the RV Museum.  I will take my camera and try to get some good shots for you all.  We will make a longer visit with them on our way back to Florida at the end of the summer.

Y'all take care now.  Come look for me at the forum if you want to chat.

We are heading north at last.  We left Florida this past Saturday and stayed for a couple of nights at Deer Run in Troy AL. Then it  was off to Nashville where we have been staying at the Nashville Country RV Park. It's a nice park north of town. Great Wi-Fi for those of you who find you need that nowadays,

We have been here several days sightseeing.  Wednesday we signed up for two different tours.  There is construction going on all over town so a tour bus that picks you up at the door is a must.  Grayline offers 12 different tours of the area including one to the Jack Daniels Distillery.

Our morning trip was in the downtown area where we got to go inside the Ryman Auditorium.

Our driving tour also took us all through the downtown and historic areas.  We stopped at the new Country Music Hall of Fame and had plenty of time to view the exhibits.

That's the State House in Nashville TN as seen from the park.

In the afternoon, our second tour took us over to the "Music Valley" area.  We got to see the new Grand Old Opry building(my pictures weren't very good there) and the Grand Old Opry Museum, Willie Nelson's Museum and the Ernest Tubb Record Shop.

Ernest Tubb's tour bus was a hoot, especially the private stateroom.  If you have a motor home and you think you don't have enough room, you have to see this one.

This is probably the prettiest hotel I have ever seen.  The Gaylord Opryland Hotel has 4.5 acres of gardens in three different sections.

Interspersed in all these plants and waterfalls are shops and restaurants.

This restaurant's tables revolve around the central core, and the rooms facing the gardens have balconies with tables and chairs.

I wish we had a little more time to visit there, it was soooo beautiful.

Yesterday we did the obligatory Opry Mills Mall trip on our own.  We both managed to acquire sandals and shirts at the Bass Pro Shop.

I want to come back in the fall and eat at the Aquarium Cafe.  It looks like a cave with fish tanks surrounding you.

This morning we went out and visited Mansker Station and the Bowen house, very early settlers of this area.

The station started out as a fort to protect the long hunters(hunters that would stay out for a year or more) and as families came out to settle the area became one of the areas first inns.

Our tour guide, who did a wonderful job at Mansker Station.

Sunday we hit the road again and are heading for the Goshen IN area.  It's time to stock up on cheese and apple butter at the Amish stores in the area, and Alan is out of popcorn.

Hope to see you soon!

I have been so remiss in posting anything in a long while.  We have very busy with our move into the new trailer and taking a couple small trips around the area.

In February we drove up to Cedar Key and took a boat ride out to the islands and wandered around looking at the remains of the old turpentine plant.

After that we took a short hop over to the old lighthouse, and saw the osprey on the nest.

It was a really nice day weatherwise, clear and sunny with not too much breeze.

We had lunch at Tony's, a tiny restaurant just as you get to town and I can recommend it, the food was wonderful.

In April, the new trailer arrived and we were deep into moving and finding homes for all our "stuff".  For a while there I was sure that I would never figure out where to put it all.  Thanks to Alan's skills and Home Depot I have some wonderful sliding baskets in the bathroom closet and pull outs under the sink in the kitchen.  I am still waiting for something called "spice clips" that are to go inside the cabinets in the kitchen.

We spent a week at the dealer waiting on a new style hitch that we had ordered and finally gave up and went home without it.  About a week after that it showed up and Alan and the guys from the neighborhood put it on themselves.  I did the smart thing and stayed inside.

We replaced the sofa and two chairs with a rocker recliner and a small desk for me, and a futon.  All the new furniture works well and looks good.  It is also much more comfortable than what came with it.

All in all, We are very pleased with our new home and look forward to living in it.

We took the plunge!  Yes, we went and did it!  No, silly, we bought the new unit.  Bet you thought something else.

We put the order in last week and now have to wait for 8-10 weeks until it is built and shipped to Florida.  I am getting so excited.  Not looking forward to moving all this STUFF over to the new unit.  It's probably going to require some adult beverages at the end.

I have been working really hard on the TheLaundryRoom Forum that I created several months ago.  There are lots of funny jokes and cartoons, contests and even a live shout box that members can chat on.  Our latest venture has been a coloring contest with either a mug or t- shirt for the winner.  Voting ends tonight for the current contest and the winner will be announced tomorrow.

With the advent of Nascar Racing Season, we have set up the LaundryLady's Racing Team,  free fantasy racing.  No fees, no prizes, but we hope lots of fun.  You can find the info here:

Oooooweeee, Baby, I am in love!!.  No, it's not what you think.  Last week we went to the Super RV Show in Tampa and I fell in love with a brand new Open Road by Pilgrim International.

Trying to find a new 5th wheel is a big project and
we spent hours on Wednesday, the 17th, looking at everything that Alan had marked on his map.  We found several that merited a closer look and stayed over-night at a local hotel.  Thursday morning found us back over at the fairgrounds with the notepad and measuring tape in hand. The possible candidates were growing smaller. We were down to two, Lakota by Mackenzie and Open Road by Pilgrim.

Both of them had rear entertainment floor plans which we have been looking for for several years.  I liked the entertainment center in the Lakota with its computer section the best(of course, LOL), but the Open Road had a better kitchen and seemed to be more usable overall.

Here are some pictures of the Open Road and you will see why I like it.

We haven't even talked to a salesman about it yet, LOL.  Just kicking the tires so to speak. You have to admit it is pretty, and I thing the kitchen is as usable as our current unit.

One added feature of our trip is I was able to meet with one of TheLaundryRoom forum members, NavyMom, while we were there.  It is so nice to put faces with names and can picture who you are talking to when you are chatting away on the computer.

I am hoping that I get to meet more of the members during our travels around the country.

I hope your Holidays were full of joy and good things.

We now come to the time of year when things slow down and not much happens. I got a haircut today and went for groceries.  My big trip out in almost two weeks.

This has been the strangest winter as far as weather goes.  Here it is January and we are still running the air conditioner.  Denver is buried under snow, and the cherry blossoms are blooming up north.  The redbud trees are blooming here almost a month early.

I have been working really hard on my forum page and it is really starting to come together. Come by and take a look.  You might want to join this little fun group just to laugh along with us.  If nothing else come read the funnies.
